Hi everyone,
Today is Isaac's 4 week birthday! We had a really good visit today. He looked good the entire time we were there and his oxygen saturation level stayed relatively stable. We also found out that they stopped his blood pressure medicine earlier in the day but his blood pressure stayed in a good range after they stopped his medicine. To top it off, at the end of our visit (I don't know why the nurse didn't tell us when we first got there), the nurse told us that they weighed him today and he weighed 610 grams!!!!!!!! We were so excited. Isaac's been gaining an average of 8.5 grams a day, definitely ahead of the 6 grams a day we were told he would probably gain.
He was so funny today. Warning, this might be TMI (too much information) for some of you. Anyway, when we first arrived, the nurse was changing the diaper they put under and over his butt (he doesn't actually wear diapers yet but they fold a diaper to cover his butt). In any case, within 10 minutes of the diaper change, I noticed that he had pooped. Upon closer inspection, he did a really big poop. So we called the nurse to come change his diaper again. But it took the nurse a little while to get everything together. And I guess our little Isaac is a clean little boy because he really didn't like the poop on his butt. He kept wriggling his little butt away from the poop so it didn't have to touch the poop. It was soooo incredibly cute. Well after he wriggled his butt to get away from his poopie, he might have discovered that he really liked to wriggle his butt and he wriggled it quite a bit more afterwards, especially when we sang to him. : )
Also, for some reason, he really likes to hold his index finger up. Just like the picture we had with his eyes opened like he was pointing at us. Its so funny because he would put his index finger on his chin like he was thinking and tonight, he put his index finger up on the back of his head. So funny!
Jong and I were pretty overwhelmed by God's grace and mercy by giving us such a great visit with Isaac. On our drive back home, we were listening to Amy Grant's If I Can Only Imagine again. And we both started crying happy tears imagining how happy Rachel was in heaven with Jesus. How pretty and happy she looked and we just felt so blessed that God gave us 2 beautiful babies - one in heaven who is looking down and smiling at us, who will welcome us when we get there, and one to stay with us to fill our hearts with gratefulness and joy from our Lord.
Our Lord our God is such a good God!
