How are you all doing? In Japan, we just finished what is called the Golden Week as we had 3 national holidays in a row from Wednesday and Friday. As usual, it went by too quickly and its already late on Sunday night. This week will be my first full week of work as I only had to work for 2 days last week.
In any case, Isaac is still battling chronic lung disease and he always seems to crash when we are there - and we still haven't gotten used to his crashing yet. Anyway, we saw Isaac shortly before his scheduled feeding so I spent some time in another room expressing fresh milk for him so I missed quite a bit of the dramatics but also the cute things that happened. Before I went to express milk, the nurse told us once again not to feed our pinkies to him so we didn't get to do that today as she was watching us quite closely. Apparently, right after I left to express milk for
ee a video of this. In any case, he put his thumb in his mouth with his hand spread open so his hand was quite close to his eyes. Well, it seemed like that was the first time he had his hand so close to his eyes and he got quite fascinated looking at it and for part of time it seemed like he was crossing his eyes trying to focus on his hand which was basically right on top of his little nose. It was, of course, really cute!Tuesday will be when he hit his 28th week by gestational age - the week we were hoping that
my pregnancy could last till after Rachel's water broke. They ended up coming 5 weeks earlier that we had hoped but we feel fortunate that Isaac is still relatively stable apart from his chronic lung disease. I will also be having my 1 month post C-section check up and Jong will be leaving for the U.S. on Tuesday. I don't know how Jong will be able to last a week without seeing Isaac. I don't envy him. When Jong is in the U.S., I will be navigating the train system to get to Toho University Hospital to see Isaac. So next week and a half should be quite interesting for all of us.Anyway, take care and God bless everyone,
Sonia
