Happy 1 Month Birthday Pudgy and Rachel!!!

Hi Everyone,

Today is Isaac's and Rachel's one month birthday. Based on Chinese customs, today is a big day of celebration for a new born baby and parents throw large banquets and invite all their friends to come see their baby (Koreans do something similar at 100 days from birth). We didn't have a banquet (we had delivery pizza for dinner : )) but my mom went out early this morning to buy some pretty flowers and made two cute flower arrangements for Rachel. We have Rachel's ashes on a side table and my mom has been trying to put lots of flowers around her, including a really nice pot of orchids I received while I was at the hospital during my bedrest days. Jong and I know Rachel is very happy in heaven and we often wonder what she is doing there. I always imagine her so happy and joyful there - how I wish to hear her giggles!

We saw Isaac last night from around 6 to 7 pm and today we went to see him from 4 to 5 pm. We didn't think that was a big time lag but somehow he seemed to have gained a lot of weight within that short span of time. He looks pudgy now!!! In fact, he looked so much pudgier today that Jong wondered jokingly whether they swapped babies on us!

He slept really peacefully through out our visting hour today so we tried not to disturb him too much. He didn't really let us anyway because every time we tried to touch him, he would desat (his oxygen saturation levels would drop). Jong was a bit disappointed he couldn't bug Isaac. It was still funny because Isaac did open his eyes a few times and Jong was trying to video tape him with his eyes open. Every time he opened his eyes, Jong would try to start up the camera but then Isaac would close his eyes before Jong got ready. Little Isaac already knows how to frustrate his daddy!

His blood pressure has been holding up without the medication so we are happy about that.

In any case, now we are wondering how Isaac will look tomorrow as he has been changing a lot on us on a daily basis the past couple of days.

Take care and God bless,

Sonia

Dear Sonia,
I am glad to hear that Issac is doing well and getting pudgy is wonderful, he sure is a little sweetie.
The milestones are wonderful and nice to remember little Rachel as well, I believe she is watching over Issac.
I am so glad to hear that things are going well.
Thinking of you always

Happy 1 month Issac & Rachel! Sure wish we could celebrate the 100 day mark together... When would that be? July 13? Chotto muzukashiina...

I now understand what Jong meant when he said "Chewing Red Man". Good boy, Issac! I am so so so so happy that he's getting pudgy!

Hey, did the nurses put that yellow nipple looking thing in Issac's mouth so that Jong can't sneak in his pinky again? ^_^

Hope you will be able to get another shot with his eyes open the next time~

Good night~

Hi Sonia and Jong,

Little Isaac is looking really good! I LOVE his hair!!! He really is cute! I can't get over how much hair he has! My son was born with a lot of hair, and then he lost it all. When it came back, it was more blonde. When he was born, his hair looked black. He looks NOTHING like his first baby picture. I love your blog. I check it every day. Little Ian and I pray for Isaac every night before bed.
