Thank Goodness Its Friday!

Hi all,

I am so glad its Friday. These days, I get completely exhausted by the time I get to Friday - just in time for me to recharge a little bit over the weekend!

Jong and I had a relatively short visit with Isaac tonight as Jong had to run off to a meeting at church. Isaac's infection is finally gone! His blood test came back at 0 today!! Praise the Lord! They will stop his antibiotics after tonight. Isaac was still doing well on 30% O2 and was well over 90% oxygen sat. the entire time we were there. He weighed 906 grams today, a little bit lower than his previous 918 grams but my guess is he was still a little edemic when they weighed him last time. I haven't mentioned his length before. Well, when he was born on April 4, he was 30.8 cm and today he is 33 cm. It seems like he is not growing in length that much but I am not sure what is normal for preemies.

He looked really good tonight. When I first got there (I usually get to his incubator before Jong does), he opened his eyes for a few secs and looked right at me. It was great to see his eyes opened. He then fell back asleep and slept like an angel. He likes to blow bubbles when he sleeps, especially after a feeding!
Later on, I felt his free foot (the other foot had the IV in) and his hands and they felt a bit cold. So I put his sock on his foot and the nurse brought some oversize mittens. Of course the only mittens she could find were ones with pink trims!Oh, and I also wanted to show you how long his nails have gotten.

I am planning to write a letter to Isaac's doctor to ask him to help recommend Isaac to Red Cross Hospital and explain our situation. My friend Ai has very kindly agreed to help me translate it. Please pray that I use the right words so that it would be possible to move Isaac at the appropriate time.

Hope you all have a good weekend!

Sonia

Hi Sonia and Jong!
I am again covering Isaac with prayer today, and also asking for the Lord's hand in moving him to the Red Cross hospital that sounds like would be such a great place for him. I am rejoicing that Isaac's infection is gone and praying that he will continue to gain weight and grow stronger! I am praying for the two of you that you may press on with the endurance you need for traveling to see him every day, and to offer up his care to God. Please know that even though I don't "know" you, you have a sister in Christ way over yonder in Minnesota who loves you all dearly.

God bless you...

Hi Sonia and Jong,

Isaac looks great! He is getting very handsome and starting to look more full-term! Don't worry about the pink mittens, he definitely looks like a boy to me!

I will pray that all goes well with the letter to the doctor and the move for Isaac. I am very happy to see that his infection is better and that he is sating in the 90s with only 30% oxygen! Huge milestone for him!!! I can almost picture the day now, very soon, when he will have cpap or cannula instead of the vent!!

I continue to pray for him every day and his continued growth and well-being. He is working so hard to grow...he is definitely a Mightly Boy!
