In any case, I started feeling sooooo much better after deciding to let things go. When we got to see Isaac, we learned that his infectious score went up slightly to 0.8 but Jong thought that anti-biotics usually takes about 2 days to kick in. The nurse also said that she thinks the score will go down tomorrow. However, Isaac is running a low grade fever (37.7 C) so please continue to pray that the anti-biotics work quickly and effectively to get rid of the infection. In any case, I didn't get panicked or stressed with this news and I am glad I let things go before I went to visit Isaac. I mean I knew everything is in God's control - I think the hard part was to let go of trying to control the outcomes myself (like I had any control!).
We did get some good news - Isaac is now 1,081 grams. And he definitely did not look bloated so we are pretty confident its "real" weight. We didn't end up taking any pictures tonight because we have been more focused on trying to spend quality time with Isaac the past few days. But Jong did take a couple of pictures yesterday when I touched Isaac briefly after not having touched him for a few days. I like the picture with my thumb touching Isaac's thumb.
As I mentioned before, my dad came to help us pack and move and our actual move is on Sunday, Father's Day. I am trying to get special permission for my dad to meet Isaac for the first time in person on Sunday or Monday evening - kind of like a Father's Day present. So I am praying that Toho will be kind and allow it to happen. My dad has helped us so much these past 6 months. He would fly over to Tokyo from Beijing whenever I needed him. We really couldn't have done this move without him as Jong has been too busy to pack and I think I have packed 2 boxes myself so far! Thank you so much, daddy! : )
Oh, one more thing I forgot to mention before is Jong has cancelled his trip next week so he will be here for Isaac's surgery. Yeah!!!
Hope you all have a blessed weekend,
Sonia

I am so glad that Jong has canceled his trip next week. I was so saddened and blessed by Issac's news the past two days. As you have written, what a sobering reminder that only God is in control. Also, so true how God keeps reminding us not to lose focus, to be vigilent at all times...
I pray that the antibiotics would work very very effectively for Issac, and that Sonia's cough would getter real soon. Speaking from experience with long lasting, severe coughs and sleepless nights because of the cough, (also, most of ML's cold symptoms tends to be severe coughing-type), the cough syrups that I get from the doctors here don't seem to help either of us much. The type WITH codine is a LITTLE more effective, but even for regular people, it's supposed to have side effects such as constipation and such. I am sure taking regular cough medicine is better than nothing, though.
If you are coughing a lot more in the morning than any other time of the day, try sleeping with your head up higher than usual (almost like a U.S. business class seat angle) Seems to help ML quite a bit.
Also, during the day, keep on taking the regular Ricola type of candy all day long, because somehow sucking something seems to help control the coughs. Of course, you should check with the doctors about having herbs such as Ricola. If not, any candy. (ML just has regular candies)
Hope you do get better soon!
