I can't believe it was almost one year ago when Isaac had his heart surgery on 6/22/2006. It was a turning point for him as I highly doubt he will still be here with us if the surgery did not go well -- so much blood was flowing through into his lungs, his heart was enlarged and he had also developed a PFO on top of the PDA he had. The surgeon told us that there was a 30% chance of fatality for the open surgery he was going to perform on Isaac. Although that was much better odds than the odds for Isaac's survival we were told after Rachel's water broke (1%) and when he was born (I think we were told he had a 10% chance), Jong and I were still so scared. He was still so tiny - he just got to 1.2 kg (2.64 lbs) right before his surgery. So many of you prayed for us and it was your prayers that carried us through.
I went back to read my posts from last June - June 2006 Posts - and felt so loved reading comments from some of you around the time of his surgery.
Thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts.
Sonia
