Dear all,
Our poor little guy got his first ear infection. I am not sure if this is related to the weaning of my pumping and therefore him not getting breastmilk anymore (he won't eat any of my frozen breastmilk). In any case, he started pulling his ear but not that often about a week ago. As it happened quite far and few in between, I just continued to observe him. Last night, when I came home from work, he was really pulling his right ear almost all evening. Plus he had a slight fever of 99.5 F. We called Dr. Che last night and he called us back (can I just say Dr. Che is really, really awesome?) and told us to give him a bit of tylenol and observe. Isaac's fever was gone this morning but both Jong and I had a gut feeling so we wanted to bring him into the clinic anyway and Dr. Che was able to fit us into his busy schedule in the morning. In any case, he checked and Isaac's right ear is "angry red" and confirmed that he indeed has an ear infection. I was just really glad I listened to my instinct and brought him in. Dr. Che said he always listens to mommy's instincts (again, isn't he awesome?). Isaac is now taking amoxicillin. Unfortunately, the amoxicillin is causing him to have diarrhea but we are praying and hoping that it will get better and most importantly that his ear infection completely heals!
Your prayers for our little guy would be much appreciated!
God bless,
Sonia

I'm so sorry to hear that Isaac is sick! Dad told me last night that you and mom took him to the doctor. I hope he feels better soon! Praying for him.
Praying for little Issac to get better quickly.
Hi Sonia,
I will pray for Isaac, I know how terrible it can be to have a baby with ear infections and antibiotic caused diarrhea.
When Renee, now 1/2, was a baby she used to get a lot of ear infections. She would run a temp and being a reflux baby vomit alot. I spoke to staff in a health food shop and they recommended what in Australia is called "Inner Health Plus". Capsules that each contain 12.5 billion Lactobacillus
Acidophilus (NCFM) organisms & 12.5 billion Bifidobacterium Lactis Organisms & 67mg Colostrum Powder (bovine). I was advised to mix less than half a capsule into either yoghurt or her breakfast cereal while she was on antibiotics. As this will help replace the good bacteria that anitbiotics kill while they kill the bad bacteria. I found this helped prevent Renee from getting the terrible diarrhea that the antibiotics caused and still give this to both my children when ever they have to take antibiotics. As Isaac has many more special needs to consider, maybe you could ask Dr Che if something like this would be OK for Isaac.
Hi Sonia,
sorry to post again, but I forgot to put mu name on the above post. Renee would laugh at me if she knew - 12yr olds are good at that.
Cheers
Evelyn
